Christmas is a time for giving.  The birth of Jesus is, in a sense, the initial deposit on the greatest gift in history - the gift of God's son: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son..." (John 3:16).  Viewed with the lense of history the story of the birth in Bethlehem makes wonderful sense.  But not so much when experienced in real time.
